The Joker123 baccarat table, card by card

Baccarat takes about ten seconds to learn and much longer to stop playing, which is probably why every lobby has one. The Joker123 table is animated: a green felt, a card shoe on each side, Player (闲) on the left, Banker (庄) on the right, and a banner across the top that says "Tie 9 for 1".

Choosing the table

Before the first hand you pick a range. There are three: 1 to 250, 10 to 1,000 and 20 to 2,000. The MIN and MAX boxes in the corner keep showing your choice. A small History panel sits on the right edge of the felt and fills with dots as hands are played.

The side bets

Between Player and Banker is a grid of six extra bets, each with its payout written on it: Player Pair 11:1, Banker Pair 11:1, Perfect Pair 25:1, Either Pair 5:1, Big 0.54:1 and Small 1.5:1. The in-game help lists the same six without explaining Big and Small beyond the payout, so if you want to use them, test them with the smallest chip first. The main bets pay 1 to 1 on Player and 0.95 to 1 on Banker. That 0.05 missing on Banker is the commission.

How the cards are counted

Two cards each. Ace is 1, two to nine count as shown, and 10, J, Q and K count as 0. Go past 9 and you drop the first digit, so 7 and 9 make 16, which counts as 6. Closest to 9 wins.

The third-card rules look fussy but you never apply them yourself. The software does. From the help screen: an 8 or 9 on the first two cards is a natural and nobody draws. Player stands on 6 or 7. If Player stands, Banker draws on 5 or less. When Player does take a third card, Banker follows a small table printed on the same screen.

A hand from the screenshots

After Deal the button changes to Show Card, and you can open your cards one at a time with a short countdown running. In the hand below Player drew 7, 3 and 5 for 15, which counts as 5. Banker drew ace, 9 and ace for 11, which counts as 1. Player wins, and the 闲 character lights up between the two hands.

The old page said a winning player bet makes "twice your bet". It means you get your stake back plus the same again, which is the 1 to 1 on the chart.
