Six monkeys, six poles, one pair to pick
Six coloured monkeys race up red poles. You bet on which pair finishes first and second, at odds that change every round. The board and help screen, explained.
Hou zi pa shu means "monkeys climb trees", and that's the whole show: six chubby monkeys in red, grey, yellow, green, blue and purple, each hanging on a red pole with a numbered balloon, 1 to 6. They scramble upward, and the first two to the top decide the round.
Betting on pairs
You don't bet on a single monkey. You bet on a pair, the numbers of first and second place in either order, so 2-6 covers a 2 then 6 finish or a 6 then 2. There are fifteen pairs from 1-2 to 5-6, laid out as a grid, and each carries its own odds for the round. In this board they run from x3 all the way to x1000, and a later screenshot shows the same pairs reshuffled: 1-6 went from x500 to x1000 and 1-2 from x125 to x20. So there's no "lucky pair" with fixed odds, the numbers are handed out fresh.
On the right are three side bets, Bank x2, Tie x9 and Player x2. Each result in the Last 5 Results column is tagged with one of those words (for example "3-6 100 BANK" or "3-6 1000 TIE"), but the help screen we have doesn't say how the tag is decided, so we'd leave those alone until you've read the in-game rules. The board also shows MIN 50 and MAX 100000.
The race and the Wukong event
When the countdown ends the monkeys climb, and a panel pops up with the winning pair and its odds. In the round above it was 2-6 at x3, the cheapest pair on that board.
The help page says you get 30 seconds to bet. Now and then Wukong turns up. His Multiplier Bonus adds x3, x4 or x5 to winning bets. His Free Monkey Bonus sends one monkey straight to the top, and then three sets of numbers win instead of one. Both are random.

How does Hou Zi Pa Shu work?
Six numbered monkeys climb poles. When the race ends, the numbers of the first and second monkeys make a pair, such as 2 and 6. Bets on that pair pay the odds shown for it that round.
Do the odds in Hou Zi Pa Shu stay the same?
No. In two of our screenshots the same pairs carry different odds, for example 1-6 at x500 in one round and x1000 in the next. Check the board every round.
What is the Free Monkey bonus?
According to the help screen, Wukong can appear and send one monkey straight to the top. When that happens, three sets of numbers count as winners for the round.
