Golden Toad: a green jade toad worth 300 times the shot
A giant green toad sits at the top of this pay table at 300 times the bet. What the screens show, what the cannon numbers mean, and which old tips to ignore.
Most fishing rooms name themselves after the boss, and this one is no exception. The Golden Toad is the money toad from Chinese shop counters, drawn here as a huge jade-green head with a purple tongue, parked at the top of the tank while smaller fish swim around it. On the pay table it's worth 300 times your bet.
The tank
Six seats share the water, and in our screenshots two of them are empty ("Waiting"). Each seat has a pink double-barrel cannon with the bet per shot printed on it, 0.10 in these shots, and a balance bar next to it. We've blurred the balances. On the left are the usual Auto and Lock On buttons: one fires without stopping, the other sticks to the fish you tapped.
When a fish goes down, its value floats up in gold figures and a spray of coins flies to the seat that caught it. The 0.20 pops in the picture above are most likely 2x fish caught with a 0.10 cannon.
What the pay table lists
The small fish go from 2 up to 35. Then come the bigger ones: a golden hammerhead at 40, an orange fish at 80, a golden manta at 100, the silver dragon at 150, the golden dragon at 200 and the toad at 300. The special catches underneath match the other rooms in this set, including Chain Lightning, Full Catch, the Neptune Needle stun and "Kill 'em All" Dynamite at 100x the bet or more.
The old page said the cannon goes up to 1000 times, with two barrels below 50 and three barrels from 50 up. We can't confirm that from these screenshots, which only show low settings.
About the old tips
The 2020 text advised firing a 30-point cannon at a 40-point fish and "watching the ratio of incoming points and out points", or holding a 70 cannon on schools of fish and moving seats when it stopped paying. None of that changes anything. Every bullet costs what the cannon says, catches are decided by the game, and a seat doesn't get "hot". What does help is keeping the cannon low while you learn how fast credit moves.
